Get ready for an intergalactic adventure where humans and ancient aliens meet, and our stellar neighbors come to life! Then, in the year 2051, our story begins one fateful day when two young women cross paths in Artemis, a colony located on the surface of the Moon. Around the same time, the discovery of an ancient alien civilization sets the wheels of fate in motion for the Starchildren, humans bestowed with unique powers. In the year 2049, mankind finally meets intelligent life: the Relayers. If you’re unfamiliar with the game, here’s an official description. You can also check out the original reveal, additional details, the first trailer, another promotional video, the first reveal of the rich cast of characters that will populate the game, the second, another extensive trailer, the latest gameplay, more information, and the latest trailer, all about robots. It launches on February 17, 2022, for PS5 and PS4. If you’d like to learn more about Relayer, we recently published an extensive interview with producer and director Yoshimi Yasuda. It’s named after Alnitak Zeta, the easternmost star of the Alnitak triple-star system in the constellation of Orion. It’s Alnitak’s mecha and can use powerful decoys. It has been aggressively tweaked to reflect her gaming style. It’s actually named after her gamertag as an active eSports competitor. The name comes from the Roman chariot drawn by four horses, which the god of farming Saturn used to ride. Quadriga is Saturn’s Stella Gear, belonging to GT Labo’s technology department. Its name derives from Emperor Tenmu, who built the first astronomical observatory in Japan. Tenbu is the original Stella Gear that Himiko boarded after stealing it. We also get to see four Stella Gear that weren’t showcased before. In the gallery below you’ll see the skill trees (or constellations, I guess) for Assault jobs in red (Fighter, Vanguard, Shinobi, Braver, and Ninja), Tank jobs in green (Knight, Paladin, Commander, Guardian, and Breaker), Sniper jobs in blue (Shooter, Backs, Gunner, Marksman, and Ace Shooter), and Scout jobs in purple (Wizard, Enchanter, Jammer, Wiseman, and Trickster). In case you missed the breakdown of the jobs, you can find them in our previous article. We get to take a look at the skill trees for the twenty jobs available depending on the four classes of mecha characters can pilot. Today Kadokawa Games updated the official site of the upcoming mecha strategy JRPG Relayer, publishing plenty of new screenshots and art.
